The four Chinese characters "守護茨廠" in the picture mean "Guarding Petaling Street". Petaling Street is an area located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. It's the place where the Kuala Lumpur city's history began and have existed more than 100 years. Due to the mass rapid transit project which will passes through this area, many historical and heritage buildings are required to be demolish take make way for the development.
This is a campaign which run by the activists, through performing art, to create awareness in the public on the importance to protect and preserve the Malaysian's heritage. It's also sending a message to authority that nation's heritage has to be preserve for the future generation despite the need for development. These pictures are part of a bigger series and were taken through out different places along the Petaling Street area.
